This course has been invaluable to me! I was able to identify the lies that cause me to run to food and the patterns of overeating that had become second nature. But identifying is just part of the solution!! With small group of fellow strugglers, I was able to learn new methods of mind renewal and ways to change my thoughts, my habits and my environment. The support that I received from Heidi and Christina and my new friends helped me each day of these five months. I’ve released physical weight, but the lessening of emotional burdens and the closer relationship with the Lord was far more impactful.
I have learned so much about myself and what drives my afternoon and night-time bingeing sprees. The tools Heidi and Christina shared, plus inviting God into each overeating episode, have been immensely helpful and freeing.
The Escape Secrets and Strongholds course has taught me different ways to seek God when I find myself struggling with a pull to extra food. During the day, afternoon and especially those evening rest times when the pull can be so great. I have learned tools that go alongside scripture and help me focus on God my Savior, my redeemer! Meeting new friends who understand my struggles and pray for each other daily! I have released physical weight, emotional weight and have a renewed peace in my physical body. Also as the course went on I found myself seeing other areas improve (marriage, friendships and what I do in my leisure time). All bringing me to a closer/deeper relationship with my Lord.
